Water Drop Gerber Daisy Refraction on Curled Leaf
4” x 6” Aluminum Glossy photo 1/50
This one comes from my earlier work when I was looking for my voice as a macro photography. This was inspired by Don Komarechka's water drop work! Grabbing two plants, some glycerin, and the flash I set up the scene. Working to keep the light source behind the water drop and on the subject so as not to blow the drop let out with the flash. The pedal held the drop safely while I captured the magic. Imagine yourself laying in the pedal it looks all nice and cozy! Look into the refraction and think of the magic in all those drops after a rain! The world is filled with these magical moments contained in the tiny orbs! We have to find the right angle and get down and close but thats half the fun! I hope my water drop refraction series add new sense of wonder to a rain storm and afterwards, the wonder that lays waiting to be discovered!
