I found these opals from my 2024 trip to Royal Peacock Opal Mine in Nevada! Same mistake but not as bad as the first time going. Located in the middle of a collapsed caldera, sits a magical spot well worth the trip! However, you need to arrive prepared or you end up living off the vending machine food and ice cream bars! Which isn't horrible! They at least have options for people who under estimate the time wanting to stay. In the end it works out! Welcome to Opal Planet one! As you gaze across the landscape before you, different portals open up! Starting on the left hand side, sits a wall that gives the impression one could walk right into it and be transported to a world with volcanoes shooting lava up in the air! The right side, takes the traveler to a vast open galaxy! Here you have the option of several different stops, each holding secrets only the viewer gets to create. If feeling more adventurous, the middle section is accessible by climbing the opal wall. Once reaching the top, the viewer can either traverse the edge along the orange path or jump straight into the center galaxy! If choosing the traverse along the edge, the summit is within reach. Reaching the summit provides a view into all the portals below you! Want a fast way down, hop on a snowboard or sled and zip down either staying on the orange path or jumping into another galaxy!
