Superbells Holy Smoke Melting into Lavender Stream

Taking my petunia from Romance Gardens and a agate my friend Luna, dog Bozo, and I collected near Gabbs Nevada. Rolling out after the stop for some Maverick burritos, we drove the 125 miles to an old mining area! Walking down the wash, it was one of the first finds of the day! Once back in Michigan, I cut it into slabs with my tile saw. Using an end piece for this scene, I wanted to create an island with a spot to sit and look at the petunia I filled a small lid up with water, placed a black piece of poster board under it with a small hole helping control the light, and then placed my bike light underneath with a Adaptalux light modifier held on with painters tape! This is how the glow was made from under the agate. The other rock came from Peterson Mountain where Luna and Bozo joined in the adventure! My buddy Pierce helped give this photo the title! He pointed out that the swirl at the bottom looked like the flower was melting into a river! With his keen eye during the critique I was super stoked to realize he was right! That is how this one came to be named. The test print will be going to him for giving it a title!
