Haven't you ever wanted to walk down a quartz pier surrounded by flowers? Now is your chance! The smokey quartz was gathered with my friend Luna, Roger, and dog Bozo up at Peterson Mountain in Nevada! Hoping in the jeep after transferring all my unneeded stuff into Roger's vehicle, we loaded up and headed off to Maverick to get some gas, drinks, and burritos! Adventures in Nevada always start with a Maverick burrito! The drive up the mountain started with a slow and easy drive. But one turn later the terrain suddenly changed into needing 4wd and a good line! We made it up to a flat point and started looking around for any quality finds while Bozo did his business. Roger pointed out up the mountain to the place we were trying to get to. It was a bit intimidating. However with enthusiasm we all got back in the my jeep Honsel and continued up the mountain! The wheeling in Michigan slightly got me ready for what was coming on the way up! We reached a point where we had to gas it up the hill! Driving around 35-40 we raced up the mountain side! Success thinking that wasn't hard. Little did I know the hard part was going to be coming down the mountain at a slow steady crawl! Thank goodness for my granny first gear and 4 low! When we reached the destination what a site it was! So many quartz crystals laying on the ground. Filling our pockets with what we could, we tried to leave room for what we still hadn't seen yet. The tailing piles were loaded with crystals! We hunted for the best ones and before we knew it, had pockets filled! It was a magical day up at Peterson Mountain!
