As above so is that below me

7146 photos taken at 75um apart in 12 different stacks. 2 rows with 6 columns. Then all the photos are stitched together to create the final image! My biggest photo stack to date and the First place winner at the 2025 2nd Church Art Competition!!

This picture was created with a desktop water fountain, an empty plastic screw container, and some malachite quartz rocks I collected in Denio Nevada at an old mine I found in Rockhounding Nevada.  This was my third attempt at creating a focus stacked waterfall scene! The container was the winning trick to direct the water flow to the spot I needed for the photo! Punching a hole in the bottom and then placing it at a slight angle while balancing it with another small rock, allowed the water to pool up and create the faster flow I was looking for! The lighting used went beyond my normal Adaptalux led arms! I also added some light strips from IKEA, and a led light bar as well! The scene I created came out better than I could have asked for! Looking to make a canyon with a water fall in it. Turned out to produce a feeling of looking down and also up at the same time! The lighting gave it a questionable vibe of good vs evil. Running with that thought, was the inspiration for the title. The movie As above so below, based on the Paris catacombs. The waterfall gives the appearance you’re looking down into a water filled hole, but also looking up at the same time! That’s how this scene came to be! I hope you enjoy the otherworldly trippy feeling it offers!
